Core Experiences

Each academic year is structured into twelve 4-week rotations, plus a 4-week “FM Breakout” block over the holidays. This schedule ensures that every resident receives one week of vacation during the special break-out period. Throughout training, each resident maintains a panel of patients in their outpatient continuity clinic. These clinics provide a diverse experience that includes chronic disease management, acute care, pediatrics, office procedures, and obstetrics/gynecology. In the second and third years, residents also assume responsibility for inpatient care at Riverside Post-Acute and in a long-term care nursing facility.
